Kearny High's 2002 Roster

Paul Almeida, Hugo Alves, Frank Bifulco, Glenn Costa, Dan Davidson, Erickson Espejo, Nicky Fernandez, James Guerra, Alfonso Guevara, Robert Kelly, Abdul Khawan, David Leal, Hugh McDonald, Johan Matril, Jario Mendez, Michael Millar, Ethan Mulligan, John Plagic, Ruben Pinto, Ryan Roemer, Frank Rosenthal, Jorge Silva, Steven Smith & brought up from JV was Andrew Amadeo.

Kearny's first score was from a penalty shot from Glenn Costa as a result from a hand ball from one of Montclair's Players.

The impressive throw ins was from Montclair's Mick Lady was long and accurate each & every time, always gave Kearny a lump in their throat every time Montclair had a throw in any where near the box.

Kearny's Defense led by Goal keeper Robert Kelly & Hugh McDonald held back the speedy Montclair attack. So it was only fitting that Hugh McDonald headed the throw in for the Second goal for Kearny.

Ryan Roemer Sent to hospital! If he can play against Shawnee i'm sure he will make his normal impact they will have to watch him, he is a very hard player, that is what Kearny loves about his play. If he does not play he will be missed without out a doubt, but Kearny has so many weapons they can make things happen even without a great player like Ryan Roemer.

I'm sure Kearny wants Shawnee in the final only because Shawnee beat Kearny last year (2001) on a goal that should have been called off sides. So now Kearny would not only love to beat Shawnee in the finals but make sure Shawnee's unbeaten streak of 41 wins in a row won't grow to #42. Kearny wants to stop them cold!

Shawnee has a great program & soccer team, but to have a championship won by a bad call leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Good luck in the 2002 finals Kearny!
